PC Tool is built and run from a working Common Service Centre in Maharashtra, India. It did not start as a software product — it started as a set of shortcuts for problems we hit at our own counter every day: resizing a photo to an exact portal limit for the fifth time that morning, retyping the same family's details across a dozen declaration forms, cropping an Aadhaar card so it would actually print at the right size.
Those shortcuts turned into tools, and the tools turned into this site. Today it is used by CSC operators and Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), students preparing admission and exam documents, farmers checking crop insurance premiums, and families putting together marriage biodata and invitations.
Because we use these tools ourselves, they are shaped by what actually gets applications accepted rather than by what is easy to build. Compression targets an exact file size because portals reject by exact file size. Document tools use the standard Marathi wording because rewritten wording gets files returned. Card croppers arrange copies on A4 for cutting because that is how a centre actually prints them.
We want to be precise about this rather than make a blanket promise we cannot keep.
Most tools run entirely in your browser. Image compression and resizing, PDF merging, splitting, page removal, rearranging, watermarking and numbering, and the ID card croppers all process your file on your own device using JavaScript. The file is never uploaded, and we never receive it. This is why those tools keep working even on a slow connection.
A few tools need a server, and we say so. Background removal, generated documents and cards, and printing through AutoPrint involve sending data to our servers because the work cannot be done in a browser. Files sent for processing are used to produce your output and are not sold or shared. If a tool needs a server, that is stated on the tool itself.
Account information — your mobile number and coin balance — is stored because the account requires it. Payments are handled by Razorpay; we do not store card details. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
The articles in our blog are written from counter experience — the documents people actually ask for, the steps that actually get them accepted, and the mistakes we have watched send files back. Government requirements change, and they differ by district. So our guides describe how a process works and where it usually goes wrong, and they tell you to confirm the current checklist with the issuing office. We would rather be useful and honest about our limits than sound authoritative and be out of date.
